Laura Rice
Practice Administrator
Laura was born and raised in the small town of Scott Depot, West Virginia. While attending West Virginia State University Laura worked at the Regional Domestic Violence Shelter and went on to write a grant that was approved to begin the first Teen Dating Violence and Prevention Program in the state. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Laura moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she obtained her MBA at Piedmont College. She then went on to become the Practice Manager for a large medical practice for 13 years. Her love of assisting people prompted her to obtain her second Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mercer University. After graduating, she continued her work as a Practice Manager but also founded her own Mental Health Practice to counsel couples and individuals in the evenings and on weekends. In 2018, Laura made the decision to move to Myrtle Beach to be closer to her family. She chose to expand her medical career by accepting a position at a Cancer Research Center where she worked closely with the FDA and top pharmaceutical companies. She played an integral part in obtaining FDA approval of multiple drugs and therapies that are now commonly known to treat cancer. Laura joined Waccamaw Dermatology in January 2021 and now serves as Practice Administrator. She is committed to providing optimal patient care by using her experience and education in this new role.
