Dermatology Certified Nurse Practitioner

Suzanne Wheeler Deckelbaum specializes in general medical dermatology and joins Waccamaw Dermatology with 20 years of experience in the profession. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the University of South Carolina where she earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing, and completed her graduate training as a Nurse Practitioner. As a result of her passion for dermatology, Suzanne further invested in her education to achieve the credentialing as a DCNP, Dermatology Certified Nurse Practitioner.

The majority of Suzanne’s career was spent practicing in the South Carolina Lowcountry where she was named as Bluffton Today’s “Best of Bluffton Nurse Practitioner” in 2022 and “Best of Bluffton Dermatology Provider” in 2022, 2010, and 2009. She was also voted as Sun Today’s Sun Select Community Choice award as the “Best Dermatology Provider” in 2021. In addition, Suzanne was a Dermatology keynote speaker at the SCNA – APRN annual Pharmacology for Advanced Practice conference.

Suzanne has always focused on quality patient-centered care and treats each individual based on their specific needs. Her philosophy is to treat each patient as you would a parent, sibling, or best friend. When a practitioner truly listens and treats patients with empathy, they are guaranteed to provide excellent care. When Suzanne is not working, she enjoys watching college football, going to the beach, and spending time with her husband, friends, family, and two dogs.
