Treatments for Problematic Skin Conditions

Everyone wants clear and beautiful skin. However, many common skin conditions prevent people from reaching their desired skin texture. If you have been struggling with unwanted skin conditions, it may be time to seek professional help from a dermatologist. Waccamaw Dermatology provides various treatments to help people conquer their problematic skin conditions.

Acne

If you struggle with acne, know you’re not alone. It is one of the most frequent skin conditions people experience. Acne can appear on your face and other areas of the body. When a hair follicle fills with excess oil and dead skin, unwanted bumps can appear. These sensitive bumps can cause extreme distress and can negatively impact one’s self-esteem.

There are a variety of over-the-counter acne treatments available. However, these options may not work for people who struggle heavily with acne. Waccamaw Dermatology’s highly trained staff are experts in treating problematic skin conditions, such as acne. We will assess your skin and identify the type of acne you struggle with. We will create a unique treatment plan that targets your skin’s needs. Our providers can offer a mix of topical and oral medication. We will ensure your skin is getting the support and care it needs to thrive.

Psoriasis

If you have red scaly patches of skin, you may suffer from psoriasis. While this condition is common, it can be difficult to treat. This skin condition causes a build-up of skin cells that can cause an array of issues, such as itchy skin and soreness. As a result, joints can become stiff and swollen.

Waccamaw Dermatology has the expertise to treat problematic skin conditions, like psoriasis. We know that psoriasis treatment is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Our providers work with each patient individually to understand their concerns and provide support where they need it. This can include topical treatments, medication, and laser therapy. We will work with you to develop a plan that supports your skin’s health.

Rosacea

Another common skin condition is rosacea. This condition causes redness and swelling on the skin. Not only does rosacea impact someone’s appearance, but it can also cause irritated skin and eye issues. rosacea is often mistaken for blushing cheeks, but it can cause unwanted complications for those who have to deal with it.

If you think you are struggling with rosacea, reach out to Waccamaw Dermatology for support. Our physicians will identify if your skin concerns are rosacea and create a treatment plan for you. We will work alongside you to pinpoint the lifestyle changes and medications you need to reduce the effects of rosacea.
