Erin S. Coakley is a Certified Physician Assistant at Waccamaw Dermatology and has been a part of the team since 2019. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Biochemistry at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA. She worked as a research coordinator for clinical trials at Arizona Cancer Center’s Skin Cancer Institute, while concurrently receiving a Graduate Certificate in Public Health at the University of Arizona. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University in Arizona. Erin launched her career as a PA working in Emergency Medicine at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital. During her time in the ER, she gained extensive surgical experience in the busy Baltimore trauma bay. Erin S. Coakley began practicing medical and surgical dermatology in 2012 and has developed a keen interest in the treatment of skin cancer, eczema, psoriasis, skin infections, rashes, warts, vitiligo, alopecia, acne, and rosacea. She performs biopsies, surgical excisions, general skin cancer/mole checks, electrodesiccation and cautery, as well as cryotherapy.

Dr. Coakley and staff are by far the best professional, personable and efficient folks I have ever dealt with. I have had well over nine different surgeries over the years at four other dermatologists offices. I would highly recommend Waccamaw Dermatology and especially Dr. Coakley. A special shout out to Holly who is so good at what she does.
