Tadzong-Fomundam Bi, MD
Doctor of Medicine
Tadzong-Fomundam Bi is a graduate of Santa Monica Community College, CA where she received her nursing major. From there she continued her education career at Montgomery Community College where she received her pre-medicine major. In 1999, she graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry degree. She attended Pennsylvania State University and graduated with her Doctor of Medicine. She did not finish there, she continued to the State University of New York where she received her Master of Public Health. She completed her internship with the Department of Internal Medicine at the New York Hospital Queens. She completed her residency program at the Department of Social and Preventative Medicine at the State University of New York. Her training included experiences in Primary Care, Environmental Health, Occupational Health, Disaster Preparedness, Mass Vaccination protocols, Behavioral Health, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Health Care Policy/Health Services Administration.
Post-graduation, internships, and residency programs, she has worked as a Medical Provider in various places throughout South Carolina including Charleston, Columbia, Murrells Inlet and Myrtle Beach, as well as in Indiana. She has appeared in numerous journal articles/ abstracts throughout her career such as Annual Meetings of the American Epilepsy Society and Canadian League Against Epilepsy, The Presence of Infection Predicts Vasospasm after Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage, American Journal of Kidney Diseases, Infection After Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage Predicts Cerebral Vasospasm, and Risk of BK Virus viremia by Cylex ImmuKnow assay immune response zones.
Dr. Bi has been a part of medical and clinical research throughout different departments in the medical field.
As part of her dedication to primary care wellness, she enjoys identifying and addressing health inequalities and disparities, providing health education to various online populations and audiences, understanding, and managing human behavior as tools for improving quality of life and lifestyle management, coaching and motivational interviewing. Outside of her dedication of all things medical, Dr. Bi enjoys in her free time wedding and interior decorating, edible fruit arrangements, food garnishing, dancing, music, and gardening. Dr. Bi hopes that her work will continue to improve the wellness of the community, encouraging people to have more self-confidence to pursue the things they love and to achieve their full potential.
Please welcome, Dr. Bi to our Waccamaw Dermatology family. We are very happy for her to be a part of our team. She will be working out of the South Strand office at the beginning of 2023.
